Christiana Caro

Born in Washington, DC, I earned my BFA in photography from MassArt in Boston, and an MFA from the University of Arizona, Tucson. I have participated in a number of artist-in-residence programs, lectures, and exhibitions in the US and abroad, including a Fulbright fellowship to Slovakia.

Over the last 15 years, I’ve taught photography at Old Dominion University, the University of Arizona, Italy’s Florence University of the Arts, the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art, the Governor's School for the Arts, and served as a visiting Fulbright artist at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design, Bratislava.

In my freelance practice, I shoot, edit and consult on a range of projects, including recent contracts with Radiant Human and with Google, where I contributed to the development of Clips, an AI-powered camera, as well as creative collaborations between artists and engineers.

I live, mom, and make work in Maryland, where I also teach photography at Johns Hopkins University and at Anne Arundel Community College.
